The best technique in my experience for the development and maintaining of knowledge is practice practice practice, the act of repetition and practice is without doubt the best way to learn.
Typical lesson length is 1-2 hours with extensions and negotiations available, currently no teaching experience but I am eager to spread knowledge and to remove any further doubt, my father (physics teacher) will be guiding me and helping my lesson plans. Lessons available for GCSE level only (or below).
