About George
George Longworth studied History at the University of Cambridge, with a heavy focus on Economic and Political History. He is now studying towards a Masters degree in Vocal Performance at the Royal College of Music.
George grew up in Cambridge and latterly, Yorkshire, attending King's College Choir School, Cambridge, the Perse School for Boys, and Leeds Grammar School. Much of his childhood was spent being tutored himself, totalling two and a half years outside of formal education, giving him a keen insight into one-on-one tuition. This was due to his professional childhood career as a singer and actor. He performed at the Royal Opera House, BBC Proms, ENO, the Young Vic, for BBC Radio 4, and in Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals, among other productions.
Since graduating from university, George has been working to earn a living, including a brief stint in M&A (Investment Banking), whilst pursuing his dream of performing and writing. To this end he is both represented as an actor and training as an opera singer.
George achieved a high grade across his finals at Cambridge, averaging 69%, and achieved 4 A*'s at A-Level, and 9 A*'s at GCSE.
He also has prior experience of tutoring having helped a boy raise his grade from a B average to an A average in History A-Level. History is widely regarded as one of the toughest A-Level's as it is heavily dependent upon good exam technique. Indeed, whether it be Politics, Economics, History or any of the other subjects taught at Secondary school level, both at GCSE and A-level, exam technique is King and practice makes perfect. To achieve top grades, the only course of action is to undertake as many past papers as possible and scrutinise the mark-schemes!

I studied History with George at Cambridge.
Aside from a brilliant analytical mind, George is excellent at presenting complex subjects in an easy and engaging way.
He could explain the long term causes of the English Civil War as if he was telling you the plot of his favourite blockbuster over a coffee. And you'd come away feeling as thrilled by it all as he clearly was.
His boundless energy and good humour is infectious, and makes him a great presenter and communicator.George is bright, articulate and helpful and a real pleasure to work with. I would happily recommend him without hesitation
