With regards to subjects like political science and history I encourage my students to read and read read the topics to develop a comprehensive understanding. The next step is to write what we have understood in our onw words this ways the text becomes an essential part of the reader. For subjects like maths practise is the key. One cannot "learn" maths, it has to be understood and practiced continuous. I encourage students to practice maths everyday and resolve all their doubts on an everyday basis. For subjects like Economics conceptual knowledge has to be substantiated with practice knowledge. Examples of the law kfdemabd and supply can be found in our everyday lives. Once concepts are clear one can deal with any topic within the subject. All that I have mentioned able is a result of how I have taught myself and how my teachers have encouraged me to think and rethinks my learning.
