About Aoife
I am a BA student at Waterbear studying Professional Songwriting (Vocals). I've been singing all my life, and decided I wanted to do it as a career when I was 16. I also self-taught myself guitar at 13 years old during lockdown. 6 years later, and I have written many original songs and released 4 of them on Spotify last year. I've done many gigs on my own and with bands, have some great industry connections, as well as some incredibly talented peers and tutors.
I love helping people with disabilities as I am diagnosed with ASD myself. I think I could really help autistic children find their 'thing', their hobby that can keep them grounded - and be their safe space that they look forward to being in.

My lessons are aimed at young children aged 5-15 years old - specifically neurodiverse children but anyone is welcome! The typical lesson will vary depending on the age range, but mainly I will be teaching your children about warm-ups, scales, and chords (music theory) as well as the practical which may be teaching your child to sing/play their favourite songs, or helping them learn different techniques to help build their skillset.
Music is known to stimulate the brain. It can help retrieve old memories, regulate your mood, enhance overall cognitive ability, relieve stress, and can lead to better problem-solving skills later in life.
