About Kennedy
Hello! My name is Kennedy Savage, and I’m excited to be your tutor. I’m a senior at Ardrey Kell High School with experience balancing academics, extracurriculars, and part-time jobs. Over the years, I’ve developed strong time management and problem-solving skills that I incorporate into my teaching. My teaching approach is tailored to the individual needs of each student. I focus on understanding their learning style (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.) and adapting lessons to suit that. I aim to make learning engaging and interactive by breaking down complex concepts into manageable parts, using analogies, visuals, and real-world examples to enhance comprehension. Frequent feedback and active participation are key, as they help students gain confidence in their abilities.
A Typical Lesson Plan
1.Warm-Up/Review (5-10 minutes):
Begin by reviewing previously covered material or addressing any questions from past lessons to ensure understanding.
2.Introduction of New Topic (10-15 minutes):
Present the new concept, using examples and demonstrations. This includes step-by-step explanations and opportunities for the student to ask questions.
3.Guided Practice (15-20 minutes):
Work through exercises or problems together, gradually allowing the student to take the lead as their confidence builds.
4.Independent Practice (10-15 minutes):
Give the student time to try problems or activities on their own, offering guidance when needed.
5.Wrap-Up and Feedback (5 minutes):
Summarize the key points, answer any lingering questions, and provide feedback on progress. Assign practice work if needed.
