About MADDISON
I'm a school and self-taught French speaker who's working on improving my understanding along with helping others. I study and analyse the French language whilst taking weekly tests to see my progression. As I have a very busy schedule, I often find myself with little time to practise however, when time is available, I use it wisely. I have been teaching myself French for a year and a half and learning it in school for around 3 years now which has given me opportunities and which I've won an award for. I'm currently on higher tier test papers and am performing at a 2 year older average. My strongest point is French reading and writing while I strive to improve my speaking. I love to tutor and mentor younger pupils of any age along with older adults who want to use this as an opportunity to learn a new hobby!

Firstly, I like to focus on the basics for example the difference accents on letters make and pronunciation of different letters. Later, move on to simple words and greeting like expressing how you feel and saying hello. Once small basic phrases are understood along with pronunciation of certain letters, we'll move onto trying to read small French texts and analysing different key features for example: remembering not to pronounce certain letters on the end of words, recognising accents and many more simple level building skills. Once most of the basics are covered and you're comfortable enough to move onto more challenging aspects, we'll move onto more difficult words and phrases; along with learning the different words you use when referring to different groups of people (male, female, singular or plural). When your confidence has grown, we can practise and recap your weaknesses and build on your strengths. The incorporation of games can also help improve the fun aspect of learning or improving your language skills. Always remember to push yourself however, keep taking breaks if needed and express when it gets too difficult!
