About Kendall
I want to teach because I believe every child learns best when they feel safe, valued, and encouraged. I love seeing those “lightbulb moments” when a learner finally understands something they’ve been working hard on. It motivates me to keep supporting and guiding them in a way that suits their individual needs.

Kia ora, I’m Kendall,
My approach to tutoring is grounded in building positive, respectful relationships where learners feel safe, confident, and supported. I believe every learner is capable, and I tailor my teaching to meet individual strengths, interests, and learning styles. I take a calm, encouraging approach, using positive reinforcement and clear guidance to help students feel successful and motivated.
Teaching techniques and methodology:
I use a mix of hands-on, interactive, and discussion-based learning. I break concepts down into simple, manageable steps and use real-life examples to make learning meaningful. I also incorporate visual aids, games, and creative activities where appropriate—especially for younger learners—to keep lessons engaging. I regularly check for understanding and adapt my teaching to suit each student’s pace.
Typical lesson length:
Lessons are usually 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the learner’s age, needs, and concentration levels. I am flexible and can adjust lesson times if needed.
Qualifications and experience:
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and have completed NCEA Levels 1 and 2, as well as Level 3 and Level 4 certificates in Early Childhood Education. I have practical experience working with children and supporting their learning in early childhood settings, which has strengthened my ability to connect with learners and support their development.
Who my lessons are for:
My tutoring is best suited for young learners, particularly children in early childhood and primary school. I can support foundational skills such as early literacy, numeracy, and general learning support, as well as building confidence and positive learning habits.
Ages 5-100
I am passionate about helping learners grow in confidence and enjoy their learning journey in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Ngā mihi,
Kendall
