I am an associate professor on an IU campus. For the past 12 years I have worked as a math educator, teaching pre-service teachers math content and teaching methods. Prior to attending grad school, I taught college and high school mathematics.

I approach the teaching of mathematics in a conceptual way. Formulas, rules, and short cuts are nice to use once you understand the underlying concepts. I make use of concrete and visual models in the teaching of mathematics. This approach helps students understanding the underlying concepts.
