About Gisella

Growing up, I had always looked up to my teachers and deeply enjoyed the process of becoming the best learner.
However, I understand how discouraging it can be to feel as if you can never grasp a subject. Maths was my weakest subject in school, and tutor lessons helped me achieve an A.
I would like to give back this support to you, though in my own strongest subjects (the humanities).

I currently study Geography, and am in my final year at Cambridge University. I have an endless supply of passion for Geography and other humanities and believe I can pass on some of this enthusiasm to you. My lessons will be engaging and thought-inducing.

In addition, as a current student, I can relate heavily with other students. I retain memory of what worked for me at GCSEs and I am enthusiastic to share what worked for me, along with any adjustments we can make to fit your needs.

About the lesson

I aim to make lessons engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I start by identifying areas they find challenging, then break topics down into simple steps using clear explanations, examples, and guided practice.

I have learnt from my own experience that practising past exam papers is an integral element of studying, thus I will implement this into my lessons after content has been understood!

I encourage students to ask questions and learn from mistakes, while building their confidence and helping them become more independent learners. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student and make sure they leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they started.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are suitable for GCSE students. I have 3 A*s in Geography, History and Government & Politics and at GCSE level received constant praise for exceptional performance and achieved 9s (A**) in all my humanity subjects (including Geography and History), then three 8s (A*) and two 7s (A). I truly enjoy helping students make progress while developing a positive attitude towards learning.
