About Audrey
My interest in teaching comes from years of independent study in literature and philosophy, where I learned firsthand how difficult texts can feel inaccessible—not because they are impossible, but because most people are never taught how to enter them. Much of my work focuses on helping students cross that threshold. I spend a great deal of time reading, writing, and analyzing complex material, and I’ve found that clarity comes from learning how ideas are built rather than trying to memorize conclusions. When working with students, I focus on slowing the process down: understanding structure, identifying central questions, and learning how to follow an argument from beginning to end. I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and thinking out loud without pressure. Sessions are collaborative, adaptive, and paced to the student’s needs. Whether we are working on reading comprehension, essay development, or critical thinking, the goal is always the same—helping students gain confidence in their own understanding. I believe learning should feel grounding rather than intimidating. My role is not to supply answers, but to help students develop the skills needed to find them independently.

Rather than relying on memorization or rigid formulas, I emphasize understanding—breaking ideas down, recognizing themes, and learning how to think through material independently. This approach is especially helpful for students who feel overwhelmed by dense or abstract material.
My sessions are structured but relaxed, and always tailored to the student’s pace, goals, and interests. My aim is not only to help students succeed academically, but to give them tools and confidence they can carry forward into future studies.
