About William
I am an online math tutor based in Ireland, specializing in supporting primary school pupils, particularly 5th and 6th grade students.
I currently work as an SNA and after-school club assistant, where I support children in their learning and help them build confidence in the classroom. Through this experience, I have developed a strong understanding of how students learn best and where they often struggle with math.
My main focus is helping students build a solid foundation in key areas such as fractions, decimals, percentages, and problem-solving. These topics are essential for success as students transition into secondary school math.
I aim to make math clear, structured, and approachable. My teaching style focuses on understanding rather than memorization, helping students develop confidence and accuracy step by step.
Before starting lessons, I often use a short diagnostic assessment to identify each student’s strengths and areas for improvement. This allows me to tailor lessons to their individual needs.

Each student starts with a short diagnostic assessment so I can identify exactly where their strengths and gaps are. From there, lessons are tailored to their needs so we’re not wasting time repeating what they already know.
Lessons are clear, structured, and step-by-step. I focus on making sure students actually understand why methods work, not just how to follow them. This helps build confidence and reduces common mistakes.
I also provide simple practice tasks between sessions so progress continues outside of lessons.
My goal is straightforward: help students feel more confident in math and improve their ability to apply what they know to exam-style questions and everyday problem solving.
