About Elara
I have 13 years of teaching experience and hold a PhD in Piano Performance. My advanced academic training provided deep knowledge of technical development, performance interpretation, and musical structure. Years of teaching students at different levels have helped me refine my ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and structured way. I carefully adjust lesson pace to match each learner’s needs and progress.
I have worked with beginners learning basic note reading as well as advanced students preparing for formal examinations and recitals. I strongly believe that disciplined practice combined with patient instruction leads to lasting musical growth. My teaching style balances high standards with encouragement, ensuring students feel both challenged and supported.

My piano lessons are carefully organised to build strong technical accuracy while encouraging expressive musical development. At the start of training, I focus on posture alignment, correct bench height, and relaxed hand positioning to ensure comfort and prevent tension. Early exercises include finger independence drills, scale practice, and rhythm counting techniques to build coordination and control. I explain each technical concept clearly so students understand how hand movement, touch control, and timing influence overall sound quality.
As students progress, we introduce arpeggios, chord voicing techniques, dynamic variation, and pedal coordination. I guide learners through detailed score reading to understand phrasing, articulation, and musical structure. Repertoire pieces are selected carefully according to ability level and musical goals, ensuring balanced challenge and steady improvement. Sight reading exercises are practised regularly to strengthen confidence when approaching new music. Memorisation strategies are also taught to improve performance stability.
Performance preparation is handled with careful attention to detail. Students practise complete pieces while focusing on expressive interpretation, steady tempo, and stage presence. We discuss concentration methods to reduce nervousness during recitals and examinations. Over time, learners develop stronger finger control, clearer tonal balance, and greater musical maturity. My goal is to guide each student towards confident, polished, and expressive piano performance.
