About Ollie

I am currently studying BSc Conservation Biology and Ecology with a minor in Law at the University of Exeter. I love all things science related especially if it is related to animals or the environment!

I won the Dux award for the highest grades in my secondary school and I was also head boy.
I got an A in SQA Advanced Higher (1st Year of University equivalent) Biology and Chemistry.
I got straight A*'s in SQA Higher (A level equivalent) in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computing Science and Geography. I won the subject prizes for Computing Science, Physics and Chemistry.
I got straight A*'s in SQA National 5 (GCSE equivalent) Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computing Science and Spanish. I won the subject prizes for Computing Science and Physics.

My hobbies are hiking, free diving and surfing. My proudest achievement is solo trekking to Everest Base Camp and helping Sherpas to build a new route along the way which will eventually lead to the summit of Mt Everest.

About the lesson

I am a straight A* student and I am currently projected to get a first in my Biology degree which I will finish next year. In my secondary school I won the dux award for the highest results in my year and I was also the head boy of my school.

I taught many year groups maths and all of the sciences in after school help sessions so I am an experienced teacher and now at university I also aid many of my classmates with understanding difficult topics such as statistics, modelling and genetics.

I am a very patient, kind and friendly person who will work at whatever pace the student wants to work at. I am good at explaining difficult concepts and I like to provide extra materials such as diagrams to aid understanding where appropriate. I like to run my sessions so that students can ask me questions or practise a topic they are struggling with or if more general help is required I will structure lessons accordingly. Lessons would typically be between 30 minutes to an hour but this is up to the student. I can also set homework for students if they wish.

I would typically teach A level, GCSE, SQA Higher and SQA National 5 students.
