About Charutha

With several years’ experience teaching students on a voluntary basis and as an online tutor, I recognise that every student learns best in a unique way, but that learning must be active. I know the best teaching does not provide only information to memorise but facilitates understanding, inspiring the student.

In the first tutorial, we will start by discussing what the student would like to achieve and identifying any particular areas the student finds challenging and would like to go over. This will allow us to make a plan for how to proceed. I will assess the student through verbal discussion during tutorials as well as the work they do during and in between tutorials. As the student progresses, we will evaluate and modify our plan.

During sessions, there will be opportunity at the start for the student to go through any particular questions they would like to clarify before moving onto the main focus of the session and then finishing with some exercises and an opportunity to discuss what work the student will do up to the next tutorial as well as any topics that the student would like to go over in particular in the next session.

My qualifications and experience are up to date with the new system introduced from summer 2017, which will allow me to give you effective guidance relevant to your position. Aside from helping you to develop an understanding of your subject and guiding you with university application, I can help you develop the skills of how to learn and to manage your time.

I am a medical student at the University of Nottingham. Medicine is a brilliant course that is challenging and fulfilling, combining science and interaction with people, requiring effective academic and communication skills.

At all levels of study, learning can be fun and engaging, but can also become a real stress when your future depends on it. Having recently been in the position of a student balancing A-levels, university application and various other commitments, I am in an excellent position to mentor students to help them achieve their goals and fulfil their potential to the maximum. I am familiar with the challenges posed by subjects and university application and how these may best be overcome. I will not only guide students using my own study techniques that helped my success, including A* for Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics at A-Level, but encourage them and help them to develop the method of learning that is most effective for them.
