About Joel
My name is Joel and I am a first year Medical Student at the University of Melbourne. As your tutor, I will strive to help you reach your potential in your studies. I graduated as dux from my undergraduate degree of Biomedical science with a GPA of 7. I have been tutoring students for the past 2 years and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have tutored students from a wide range of backgrounds and a wide range of levels including kindergarten to university levels.

My teaching method mainly consists of explaining the every concept of the subject with the help of textbooks and other online resources. I strive to ensure that the student understands the content to a great level of detail rather than wrote learning the content in order to enable the student to do well in their academics and apply it into any aspect of their careers.
From my experience, I understand that studying can be boring at times because we often don't understand what we are learning. This changes drastically when we understand the content and can see how it applies in our everyday lives. I find that my students become enthusiastic and confident when they reach that level and I will strive to make sure that all my students will be able to achieve that.
I usually write up dot points summaries for my students that will help them come exam time and I like to run through exercises with them to ensure that they have the opportunity to practice some questions.

Details
I charge 45/hr for private 1 on 1 tutoring but for group sessions I charge 35 each student. For groups sessions, I generally like to keep the sessions small so I do a maximum of 4 students per group.
