About Nicole

Hello! My name is Nicole, and I recently graduated from Stony Brook University with a double major in Linguistics and Psychology and a minor in Music. I have been playing piano for 16 years and have participated in numerous recitals, solo performances, duets, and chamber ensembles throughout my musical training. I have also received multiple awards through the National Guild of Piano Teachers.

In addition to my musical background, I have several years of experience working with children and their families as a camp counselor and mentor. These experiences have helped me effectively communicate with children from diverse backgrounds, support their individual needs, and adapt to different learning styles.

I believe that every student can succeed with the right encouragement and guidance. My goal is to support students in their music journey and encourage them to feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and developing a lifelong appreciation for music.

I look forward to helping young pianists begin their musical journey and achieve their goals at their own pace.

About the lesson

I believe piano lessons should be both educational and enjoyable- after all, through joy and happiness is how we learn best.

My goal is to help students build a strong foundation while making music something they look forward to each week. I work with beginner students ages 4–12 and adjust my teaching style based on each child's age, personality, and experience level.

During lessons, we usually work on note reading, rhythm, technique, scales, and songs that the student is learning. I also introduce basic music theory along the way so students understand what they are playing, not just how to play it.

I've been playing piano for 16 years and recently graduated from Stony Brook University with a Music Minor.

Throughout my musical training, I have performed in recitals, solo performances, duets, and quartets, and have received multiple awards through the National Guild of Piano Teachers.

I also have several years of experience working with children, which has motivated me to become a positive role model and encourage a love of music in young students.

My lessons are best suited for young beginners who are just starting their piano journey and want to build confidence, skills, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
