About James RW

I am a California DMV Licensed Driving Instructor with 20 years of driving experience. I have passed many background checks. I began teaching as a High and Low Ropes Challenge Course Facilitator in 2004. I have also taught many film production classes in Los Angeles. Elon Musk hired me to teach one of his kids to drive a proper car, without all of the electronic assists that Teslas include. I pride myself on a calm gentle supportive bearing, and ensuring that a lighthearted fun approach is taken to experiential learning. I have a variety of games and techniques suited to all forms of learning: visual, auditory, experiential, conversational and more. All questions are good questions. All fears are normal. All I ask is a willingness to try, and an openness to growth. I ask for curiosity and a willingness to engage and discover.

About the lesson

All physical lessons will be given in a car the student provides for the lesson.

In addition to ensuring that you are a skilled driver, and know everything you need to know to pass your drivers test, I am a master of Parallel Parkingand have a technique that works 100% of the time. No more embarrassment!

For more advanced students, I can teach Stick Shift proficiency , as well as certain race techniques like clutchless shifting, match revving, hill starts, heel-toe, and other tips and tricks.

My first car was a 1987 Nissan Sentra in manual. I drove a 2001 Mustang across the country four times. I owned a 1983 Porsche 944manual, and a 2006 Porsche Cayman S.

I am licensed with Primo Driving School in Los Angeles. My students always gave me five stars.
