About Alexandra

Hi, I'm Alex! I'm a Communications student at North Carolina State University and a Spanish tutor with both academic and personal experience in the language. Having grown up in a Hispanic household, completed Spanish coursework through middle school, high school, and college, and earned membership in the Spanish Honor Society, I bring both knowledge and cultural understanding to my lessons. I specialize in helping beginner and intermediate learners build confidence through fun, supportive, and personalized tutoring sessions.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my focus on creating a fun, easygoing learning environment for beginners and intermediate learners. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, so I keep lessons relaxed, engaging, and tailored to each person's goals. My aim is to help students build confidence, enjoy the learning process, and make steady progress without feeling overwhelmed.

We kick off the session entirely in Spanish with a casual, low-stakes chat about your week, your mood, or a light cultural topic. This acts as a mental transition into the language.

2. Core Concept or Homework Review:

We tackle your primary goal for the day. If you are an academic student, we break down tricky grammar rules, past exam errors, or upcoming assignments. If you are a conversational learner, we deep-dive into a specific situational theme (e.g., ordering food, traveling, debating a topic).

3. Interactive Media Application:

We put the core concept into practice using media elements such as a short audio clip, a song lyric, or engaging in a dynamic roleplay scenario to cement the rule in a real-life context.

4. Slang, Idioms & Dialect Spotlight:

A fun, high-energy segment where we look at authentic regional phrasing to make your Spanish sound natural.

5. Wrap-Up & Actionable Goals:

A quick review of the key takeaways from the day, answering any final lingering questions, and setting clear, actionable practice goals for our next session~!
