Hello! My name is Amelia, and I am a passionate and dedicated online English teacher from South Africa. I enjoy helping students build confidence in their English skills and creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and making progress at their own pace.
I hold a TEFL certification, which has equipped me with the knowledge and practical teaching techniques needed to teach English effectively to learners of different ages and language levels. My training focused on lesson planning, classroom management, grammar instruction, pronunciation, and student engagement strategies for both children and adults.
I have over two years of experience working with children through after-school programs and Sunday school teaching. During this time, I assisted students with homework, reading, communication, and general learning support. These experiences helped me develop patience, creativity, adaptability, and strong communication skills — qualities that are essential in online teaching.
My teaching style is student-centered, interactive, and encouraging. I believe students learn best when lessons are engaging, supportive, and tailored to their individual goals. I like to use conversation practice, visual aids, repetition, games, and real-life examples to make learning enjoyable and practical. I also focus on building students’ confidence so they feel comfortable speaking English naturally.
One of my greatest achievements as an educator has been helping shy or struggling learners become more confident in participating and communicating in English. Seeing students improve their pronunciation, vocabulary, and speaking ability motivates me to continue growing as a teacher.
My purpose as an online English teacher is to help students not only improve their English skills but also feel inspired, motivated, and confident in their learning journey. I am committed to creating a welcoming classroom environment where every student feels supported and encouraged to succeed.
