Differentiated student instruction to support students with disabilities, ESL students, and provide equitable support meeting students where they are at. I am comfortable working with students at varying levels of ability and enjoy watching them light up as they grow gaining confidence and mastery of new material.
A typical lesson plan will focus on a specific standard of practice that is relevant to what the student needs and can be aligned to their ongoing classes. I approach online lessons with an I do, we do, you do approach connecting the material to student's lived experience and making it applicable to their learning aspirations.
My professional experience is with middle and high school students and can support elementary students in material investigation and discovery as well. I want the student to be active participants in their construction of new knowledge which is shown to improve their retention of information and increase in confidence to assess new problems.
