About Austin

I am a Speech and Debate teacher at a school in Redlands California and have taught at multiple schools. I received my Bachelor's in communication at California State University San Bernardino and am currently pursuing my Master's in Communication at ASU online. My emphasis is in Speech and interpersonal communication. I am highly passionate about you learning to become a better communicator with the world around you.

About the lesson

I specialize in helping people work on their speeches, debate skills, and interpersonal skills with other people. I have a holistic approach in which I seek to help the entire individual grow. I have a genuine love for people, speech, and knowledge and I’m excited to help you learn! Below are my teaching methods and lesson formats. While it is made specifically for speaking, I am happy to help in any way with your communication skills. My lessons are for anyone who aspires to be a better communicator. Whether you are a high school student, an undergraduate student, or a graduate student, my goal is to help you refine your speech for any occasion (public event, presentation, wedding, school, preaching, etc.) My teaching method emphasizes four things: 1: Interactive learning: I encourage hands-on practice with personalized feedback after each session. 2: Practical tools: I will help you incorporate storytelling, voice modulation, and body language techniques to make you a well-rounded speaker. 3: Goal-oriented instruction: My sessions align with your needs (i.e. public speaking, persuasive speaking, presentation, job interviews, etc). 4: Truth and confidence building: I want you to be able to confidently speak the truth. We will use low-pressure drills and exposure therapy to help you prepare for any speaking occasion. My typical lesson plans will have five parts to it (depending on the need): 1: Questions: First we will answer any questions and tailor the session to your needs. 2: Warm-up: We will have exercises to prepare you for our session. 3: Lesson Focus: We will work on the objective for the day based on your needs. 4: Practice and feedback: I will then give you constructive feedback. 5: Wrap-up: We will then summarize takeaways and have a follow-up task. If you are looking to do one session or many sessions, I am dedicated to helping you learn to become a better communicator. There is almost nothing as effective as learning how to communicate better with those around you; and I want to make that a reality for you in your life.
