About Harry
Kia ora, I’m Harry Townsend. I’m from Motueka and currently studying Speech-Language Therapy, with a background in Communication. I’m passionate about language in all its forms—how we express ourselves, connect with others, and grow through learning. I’m learning te reo Māori and committed to creating culturally safe spaces where people feel supported to be themselves. I’m especially interested in working alongside neurodivergent learners and helping them find ways to thrive through flexible, responsive teaching. I love seeing people grow in confidence—whether that’s through improving their writing, finding their creative voice, or building clearer, more effective communication. Teaching is a way for me to share what I care about while creating space for others to succeed in their own way.

I offer dynamic, growth-oriented lessons grounded in the principles of neuroplasticity, designed to nurture each student's imaginative problem-solving, creative expression, and linguistic accuracy. Whether you're seeking support with spoken and written English, creative writing, poetry, or accent modification (including Portuguese-accented English), my sessions are crafted to build confidence, precision, and a genuine curiosity for learning.
As a Speech-Language Therapy student and a graduate with a Bachelor of Communication, I bring a unique, evidence-informed approach to teaching. My lessons are safe and encouraging spaces where students are supported to explore, take risks, and stretch beyond their comfort zones. I work collaboratively with learners to help them discover their voice—whether in academic writing, spoken communication, or creative expression—while maintaining a strong focus on skill development and personal growth.
