About Nthanael
After my post grad, I spent five years working at Bio21 researching & developing new methodology for synthesizing amino acid chains and other chemical compounds. Then I spent 4 years in Japan teaching English, before returning to Australia and undertaking my Master's of Teaching at the University of Melbourne. Now, after 12 years of teaching, I’d like to focus more on developing an extracurricular university preparation school/organization; enhancing individual learning through one-on-one or small group teaching interactions.

It is my teaching philosophy that interest and necessity are among the main dominant factors in the development of student learning and growth. That is, it is very difficult for one to learn and apply that which they’re not interested in; as it is difficult to consolidate and utilize the learning of concepts that are not necessary to work the task one has set for themselves. So, I focus my teaching strategies on exercising and focusing the interests of my students to better understand that which is necessary for them to learn, and vice versa; find and lead with the aspects of the necessities that my students are likely to develop interest in. Couple that with detailed and explicitly explained worked examples to any problem my students provide me with.
