As a Ph.D.-prepared educator in Special Education with more than 13 years of classroom experience, I believe every student can succeed when instruction is tailored to their unique learning style. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to build their confidence, independence, and long-term learning skills.

My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and highly individualized. I begin by identifying each student's strengths, areas for growth, and learning preferences. From there, I create engaging lessons that combine direct instruction, guided practice, questioning strategies, real-world examples, and frequent feedback. I also incorporate organization, study skills, and executive functioning strategies when appropriate to help students become more independent learners.

A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material and any questions the student may have. Next, I introduce or reteach concepts using clear explanations and examples before working through guided practice together. Students then apply what they have learned independently while I provide support and immediate feedback. I conclude each session by reviewing key concepts, celebrating progress, and discussing strategies for continued success before the next lesson.

What sets me apart is my combination of extensive classroom experience and advanced training in Special Education. As a current high school science teacher and holder of a Ph.D. in Special Education, I understand how to adapt instruction for students with diverse learning needs while maintaining high academic expectations. My research and professional experience have focused on effective instructional practices, assistive technology, student engagement, and helping learners overcome barriers to success.

My lessons are designed for middle school, high school, and college students who need support in science, study skills, executive functioning, organization, or learning strategies. I also enjoy working with students who have ADHD, learning disabilities, or other unique learning needs, as well as students who simply want to strengthen their understanding of challenging concepts. Every lesson is personalized to help students reach their academic goals while developing confidence as independent learners.
