About Mercedes
Greetings, I earned my master’s degree from Saint Joseph's University in special education. I received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Holy Family College. I also attended Community College of Philadelphia and earned an associate degree in liberal arts. I am highly qualified in math, language arts, social studies, and science. I currently have 27 years of investment as a teacher. I taught elementary school for 18 years, middle school for 2 years, and high school for 7 years. As a teacher, it's my job to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside them to maximize it. I believe in hands-on experiences and learning creatively. It is my goal to create a community of learners who are committed to working hard and having fun. I want students to feel valued, cared for, and confident that they can apply what they've learned in school to real-life situations. I want my students to feel challenged and to have an enhanced passion for learning. Aside from school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, or just lounging by the pool reading, listening to Rhythm and Blues, or watching mysteries on the Hallmark Channel.
