About Paula
I'm an educator with over 10 years of experience as a special education teacher and certified dyslexia interventionist. I hold a Master of Science in Special Education and have extensive training in both the Phonics First and Wilson Reading System programs. I believe reading opens the door to lifelong learning and confidence across all academic areas. My approach is simple: all students can learn when teaching is structured to meet their individual needs.

Literacy lessons include engaging, multisensory lessons in phonemic awareness and phonics. Students gain confidence by reading decodable texts and writing words and sentences using words and sounds that have been explicitly taught. After learning to read text, students gain further knowledge by comparing texts and by responding to comprehension questions about texts.
