About Lauren
I’m a proud substitute teacher and special education paraprofessional, married for four and a half years to a wonderful disabled veteran, and I live a rural lifestyle. My passion has always been learning and helping others learn, and I am grateful that I was given the opportunity to pave my way down the education path. Typically, I assist in teaching ELA and mathematics up to a 9th grade level - usually geometry and algebra - but I also assist with class subjects such as basic physics and lower-grade sciences and various types of history. Sometimes, using the teacher’s guidance and oversight I will conduct lessons, but mostly I work one on one to assist in building on concepts in which they struggle with. I work in special education, so my approach is quite individualized, but I break concepts down step by step into smaller concepts, being mindful of the student’s capabilities and pace, to ultimately add together such concepts.
