I have had just a handful of lessons with him, but I am already very impressed with his ability to draw upon his experience and intuition as a teacher and quickly assess a student’s range of abilities and areas of challenge. He is very organized and responsive in terms of communication both before and after lessons. Each lesson is followed up by a detailed recap of material covered, highlighting new vocabulary or grammatical/syntactic concepts so that there is little need for me to take notes, allowing me to devote my much-needed full concentration to the session! I have also never taken on-line language lessons before, and I have particularly enjoyed the format of working through (in my case, mostly oral comprehension) exercises on a shared screen. Alex manages all aspects of this so seamlessly and efficiently that it feels just as good as a face-to-face interaction, and with no special tech expertise at all required on my part :) Most importantly, Alex is a very kind, encouraging and motivating teacher - he makes sure to present material that is sufficiently challenging to promote a rich learning experience but is also very patient, supportive and sensitive to the student’s perspective. He has a very calm and methodical approach, and he always takes time to explain concepts carefully and thoroughly and to acknowledge all my efforts and small successes as well!

Perfect! I have been looking for the right french tutor for some time and believe that I have found the right one for me in Alex. He has a methodical way of teaching where he explains things carefully, thoroughly, and in order. This is very important to me as I need to understand why things work the way they do in a language. We use a french course textbook which includes grammar and exercises - a nice and easy way to prepare for the next lesson as well as to monitor one's own progress.
