About Yara

My teaching approach is gentle, reflective, and centered on personal growth. I believe learning Spanish can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and connection. In my sessions, we use mindfulness activities, guided journaling in Spanish, and emotional vocabulary to help you express your thoughts with clarity and calm. You’ll learn to speak and write at your own pace, with no pressure to be perfect. I create a safe space where you can explore your feelings, ideas, and identity in a new language. We focus on real conversations and personal topics that matter to you. Whether you're new to Spanish or returning after time away, I meet you where you are. I’m especially skilled at helping those who want to speak with confidence in daily life or feel more at home in a new culture. We work on pronunciation, flow, and comfort, not just grammar. Every word you learn becomes part of your story.

About the lesson

I’m a dedicated Spanish tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, concentrated in Contemporary Hispanic Culture. My specialty lies in teaching Spanish for historical research and academic translation. I guide students in deciphering ancient texts, interpreting primary sources, and analyzing colonial and postcolonial documents with linguistic accuracy. Whether you're working with manuscripts, letters, or early publications, I help you develop the tools to engage deeply with historical Spanish.

My approach combines archival resource exploration with contextual analysis, ensuring each student learns how to read between the lines and capture the author’s original intent. I emphasize building specialized vocabulary for academic and historical fields, training learners to translate not just words but meaning. From medieval chronicles to modern scholarly texts, I support students in refining both their comprehension and expression.

You'll gain confidence navigating regional variations, antiquated grammar, and stylistic nuances. My sessions are highly personalized and intellectually engaging.
