About Laura
I have been teaching since 2001 and have taught all subjects from elementary to high school, but Spanish is my favorite. I love to not only teach the language, but about the cultures, the music, the dances, and especially the foods of Spanish-speaking countries. I grew up in CA but currently reside in TN. I have three children ages 14, 11 and 7 and my husband is from Guatemala. We lived for 5 years in Honduras where we were teachers and missionaries.

My lessons are engaging and fun. I use a proficiency-based approach and include music, videos, dance, games, activities, and more! I am not a native speaker but I lived in Central America for five years and my husband is a native speaker, so we speak Spanish in the home with our children. I have taught children and adults and I have a Bachelor's in Spanish and in Liberal Arts.

Perfect! Laura is such a great tutor. She was so patient and explained any questions I had. She also took things very slow, so no questions went unanswered. I definitely recommend lessons from Laura.
