About Raylee
I have a BS in Spanish from The College of Wooster, which requires not one but TWO written theses to graduate (something they picked up from Princeton...or was it vice versa?) I wrote mine on translation and poetry. I am trained in Spanish phonetics and have read the entire Don Quixote, among other Spanish language masterworks, which explains how I have a bigger vocabulary than many native speakers and how I can help you do the same if that is your desire. I have lived with an Oaxacan family for two and a half years, took classes at the University of Córdoba for a full scholastic year and have worked as a bilingual executive assistant for the CEO of an international firm with many partners and clients around South America for two years. I have a Master's in an unrelated field, where I work full-time but I like to keep my passion for Spanish alive in my spare time.

Speaking a new language starts with proper phonetics, which most high schools don't teach, resulting in very strange accents (people in Spain thought I was Austrian the first time I met native speakers due to my education before studying abroad.) Learning where sounds are supposed to come from within your mouth can be tricky but I learned from a world class college professor and can pass on tips to make it easier that you can't find in many programs. I can help with mnemonic devices to cement vocabulary words and verb tenses and give tips on making your Spanish believable whether you are travelling abroad, want to communicate with coworkers, land an acting role or ace a test.
