About Callum
My love for Spanish began as a fascination with rhythm, expression, and the cultural depth embedded in every word. Over eleven years of teaching, I’ve worked with students across continents, helping them not only learn the language but live it. What drives me most is witnessing a learner go from hesitant phrases to confident, spontaneous speech — that moment when the language truly becomes their own. Teaching Spanish is not just my career; it’s an extension of who I am, combining curiosity, connection, and creativity. I teach with empathy, patience, and flexibility, crafting lessons that respond to each learner’s pace and personality. My approach is rooted in the belief that language learning should be both rigorous and joyful. I encourage my students to embrace mistakes as milestones and to view Spanish as a bridge to understanding people and perspectives around the world. Outside of teaching, I explore Hispanic literature, music, and travel — constantly discovering new stories and ideas to bring into my classroom. To me, teaching Spanish is a lifelong dialogue between cultures, and every student adds their own voice to that conversation.
