About Daphne
I am a professional architect by training. I have tutored high school students privately in Spanish and in English for foreign students. Creating a relaxed supportive environment has enabled me to help students overcome difficulty in pronunciation and fear of speaking. (The latter is especially true for teenagers !) Additionally, I have worked with students learning to read and write basic Spanish.

My teaching approach begins with asking students what they enjoy doing or topics they love. It is easier and much more fun to learn a language when you like the subject! I also try to put students at ease so they really want to express themselves. Learning techniques include role-playing, question and answer formats, free form conversation on favorite topics! For specific academic targets, learning objectives will be developed for the student(s).
