About Alex
I'm Alex, and one day, when I was 13, I told my parents I was going to dedicate myself to music and sound. Now I'm 28, and I can say I've spent more than half my life doing this, and I couldn't be happier.
I started out self-taught; YouTube is a goldmine, as you know. Shortly after, I completed a three-year diploma in music and sound production, covering a bit of everything. Then I moved to Berlin for almost five years, where I discovered an artistic scene that shaped who I am today and allowed me to pursue my passion professionally by playing live, organizing events, doing sound design for advertising and animation, and composing for film.
There, I also started giving private lessons, like the ones I'm sharing with you here. And immediately, I realized that sharing this passion and knowledge with others is probably my way of giving back to society and my community, to the point that I'm currently in the process of opening a community center dedicated to sound and listening, as an educational and social alternative to the privatization of electronic and contemporary music studies.

Making music, creating sound, is something very personal.
It's an expression that comes directly from within, and knowing how to channel it with the right tools and methods is essential to capturing that authenticity.
That said, it's not difficult. In fact, it should be fun and feel like an extension of you. Contrary to the elitist or academic image often associated with making music, you have everything you need: two ears.
Through listening, you'll learn to make music, synthesize the sounds that captivate you, or capture the rhythms that move you.
Through creative exercises based on experimentation, trial and error, and randomness, you'll be making your own music from the very first lesson, in a fun way, without being overwhelmed by perfectionism or destructive comparisons. It won't be the typical sudden urge we've all had to learn to play an instrument, only to last a week because we don't sound like that artist we love.
We'll start by getting to know you and discovering where you are: what you like to do, what you want to achieve, what kind of music you like to listen to, what your goals are, and even the reasons behind them. From here, we'll begin designing a roadmap based on your level, intentions, and interests. This roadmap will be adjustable if we see that something needs more attention, is unnecessary, or if we discover something entirely new that we want to explore.
During the hour-long class, we'll dedicate time exploring a specific topic, designing a practice exercise to your liking, and that will be your homework until our next meeting. Because music is nothing more than that: practice. You'll draw conclusions, identify problems, ask questions, and develop skills that you'll share with me, and we'll work through them together to incorporate them and move forward.
And we'll continue like this until you feel it's enough.
Although we'll create an outline with topics and milestones, this isn't a course with a beginning and an end. Rather, it's a mentorship where I'll be your guide. At your own pace.

¡Gracias, Alex!View more recommendations
