About Collin
While I have struggled very little with mathematics, I completely understand how students struggle with new topics if they can't connect it back to previous topics they have learned. My approach to this is to connect new topics back to previous topics, which has worked countless times with numerous close friends and loved ones through the years. In high school I was someone that people from all throughout the school came to for help, because I had a reputation for being a patient, wise helper. This is a reputation I intend to uphold, because no student should ever feel like they aren't capable of learning something. Sometimes, all it takes is a little reframing.

I like to teach by first demonstrating a topic by myself in extreme detail and answering questions at each step. Then, I give my students many practice problems and explain in detail what students do wrong or what they don't understand. Then, I like to give students harder problems than they are realistically likely to face, so that the problems that they are expected to complete become much easier. For math, I teach algebra 1, algebra 2, precalculus, calculus 1, and calculus 2. For chemistry, I teach middle school and high school chemistry, as well as general chemistry 1 and 2. Additionally, I can teach introductory organic chemistry. As a tutor, I am very patient, kind, and I can explain complex topics using simpler analogies to connect what you are learning to you.
