"Writing songs is rarely about waiting for lightning to strike. It is actually about the discipline of editing and rewriting until the idea works.
I entered this field because I realized that raw talent needs a map. My BMus Composition degree from the University of Auckland provides that structure.
I have guided 90 students through the process. Whether you are an independent artist, a complete beginner, or a career switcher, I focus on prosody and storytelling.

I help independent artists and content creators find their voice through point of view and narrative focus. We examine how words sit against your rhythm to ensure the prosody feels natural.
I guide you through the technical side of melody writing so your ideas hold attention from start to finish. Developing these habits allows you to move past the initial hurdle of the blank page. We focus on getting that song finished."
