About Soham

I am a fourth-year medical student based in London with a deep passion for education and supporting others on their academic journeys. My interest in tutoring stems from a desire to not only share knowledge but to inspire confidence in students, helping them unlock their full potential regardless of their past academic performance. I understand that every learner is unique, and as a tutor, my role extends far beyond simply delivering lessons. I create well-structured, engaging lesson plans tailored to each student’s learning style and needs, ensuring that the material aligns with the required syllabus or curriculum. I am committed to providing a high standard of teaching, continuous support, and constructive feedback. I take pride in closely monitoring progress, maintaining accurate records, and adapting my methods to help every student succeed. I bring with me a range of essential skills that I believe are key to being an effective and competent tutor. Patience is central to my approach; I strive to create a calm, reassuring, and respectful learning environment. My communication style is highly adaptable, enabling me to connect with students who learn in different ways. With strong planning and organisational skills, I ensure that each lesson is purposeful and aligned with academic goals. I also lead with empathy and understanding, recognising that students may face personal and academic challenges, particularly during exam periods. I provide emotional support alongside academic guidance, helping them manage stress and stay motivated. My commitment to confidentiality, active listening, and maintaining a positive attitude encourages students to believe in their own potential. In addition, I possess strong leadership skills that allow me to guide students effectively, maintain focus during lessons, and ensure that they remain on track with their studies.

About the lesson

I achieved an A* in GCSE maths and an A in GCSE chemistry, and going through some of the core concepts in much more detail during my A-Levels has given me clear perspective and understanding of all the topics covered. I am comfortable teaching all exam boards, but I sat Edexcel exams for both maths and chemistry. For my previous tutoring experiences, I have worked with other tutoring companies teaching all levels of Mathematics and have done tutoring in school for younger students whilst at sixth form. I have an adaptive style of teaching, and would love to meet you to discuss what you want to get out of the lessons and how I can help. Look forward to speaking to you.
