Objective: Understand what human services is and why it is important Topics: Definition and history of human services The role of human services in communities Key values: Empathy, advocacy, and ethics Overview of human service careers (social work, counseling, case management, etc.) Activities: Discussion: “What is human services, and why does it matter?” Case Study: Analyze a real-world human services organization Reflection Journal: Students write about a time they helped someone and how it made them feel This is just a preview about lesson plans.
