About Tarik
I am an experienced high school tutor with more than twelve years of professional tutoring across many different history and civics courses. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2020 with degrees in economics and philosophy. My students become engaged and inspired by the lesson topics and many become energized to continue discourse using their new and concrete knowledge. History and civics are forever life skills and not just tools to pass your tests (even though that’s a plus too!) I love helping new students find their love of knowledge.

My student-centered approach brings all students and parents the desired outcome and stands apart from the rest of their classmates. My techniques impress upon the student how decisions were made throughout history and today in our current systems of government. We will utilize civil discourse, reading and analysis of primary documents, and inquiry-based learning to dive into the topics and not just memorize facts, dates, and current events.
