About Rebecca
I possess 6+ years of academic writing experience, as well as two years of teaching assistant experience in the department of Sociology and Social Anthropology at Dalhousie University. I have previously worked as a Writing Instructor at the Dalhousie Writing Centre, where I mentored students of all disciplines seeking feedback on their writing. I have also worked one on one with a Canadian Newcomer on developing her writing skills for a college-level program. In addition to my teaching experience, I have several years of direct experience mentoring and facilitating creative educational programming for young people. I am passionate about working with youth and helping them to build their confidence though better writing and study skills.

My teaching methods are collaborative and creative. I want to engage the student in each stage of their writing process and encourage them to be an active agent in their learning development. I want to build a personal relationship with each student and get to know their unique strengths and challenges. I believe that everyone can write well, and that with proper guidance and motivation I can help students to develop pride in their written work.
