About Catherine "Cat"
Hello, I’m Catherine Clarke – usually known as Cat. I’m a friendly English tutor and corporate trainer working internationally by Skype or in people’s homes or business premises in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, England area (corporate training farther afield can be negotiated). I have over fifteen years’ experience of tutoring English, I am Disclosure and Barring Service checked, and I have both Cert. Ed. and the Adult Literacy Subject Specialist qualification.

I love performing and comedy improvisation, and I think this helps me introduce a little extra fun into my lessons! I have taught people from all over the world and I love learning from them as much as they learn from me. I will tailor classes to suit your needs, whether you’re just starting out, need to brush up on your study skills or are working towards a qualification.

My lessons are entirely flexible. I do not work to a rigid programme although I will tailor classes to meet your needs if you are working towards a qualification such as IELTS or GCSE. I use a variety of resources such as PowerPoints, worksheets, videos and good, old-fashioned conversation! In my years teaching for Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service, Derby Adult Learning Service and the WEA, I have taught people with a variety of abilities, experiences – and fears. You can be confident that, with me, work is always negotiated and there’s never any such thing as a silly question!

Details
Just to clarify, my price is £20 per hour for online tuition and £25 per hour when travelling to the student. The first half hour meeting is free and discounts are available for block bookings of four or more lessons.
