About Remi
I am a singing tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Vocal Performance. My work centers on helping singers of all levels—school students, college performers, and adult or professional vocalists—develop strong, confident voices for musical theater and Broadway performance. I believe singing is not just about sound, but about storytelling, intention, and presence. In my lessons, I focus heavily on acting through song, guiding students to understand character motivations and emotional arcs while maintaining healthy vocal technique. Stage presence is an essential skill, and I help singers feel grounded, expressive, and confident under performance pressure. I specialize in belt technique and teach it in a way that prioritizes safety, balance, and longevity. Vocal agility is another key focus, especially for performers who need to switch quickly between styles, emotions, or registers. My jazz background supports strong ear training, harmony work, improvisation, and music theory, all of which strengthen musical awareness and confidence. I believe every voice is unique and deserves individualized care. My lessons are interactive, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals. My teaching approach focuses on singing as a form of storytelling and emotional communication. I believe every song has meaning beyond the notes. I work with students on lyric interpretation so they understand what they are saying. Emotional connection is developed naturally through understanding and intention. We explore storytelling through singing by shaping phrases and tone. I help singers learn how to communicate clearly with an audience. Technique is used to support ease and expression. I work closely with singers performing expressive musical theater styles, including music similar to Fiddler on the Roof and The Music Man. I dedicate myself to refining the ability to move listeners emotionally. Lessons are encouraging and supportive. I help singers feel safe expressing emotion through their voice. Each student is supported based on their individual needs. Growth happens step by step. Singing becomes honest and personal. Students truly embody their songs and communicate with confidence.
