About Jett
Over the past 9 years, I have taught piano to nearly 300 students, including high school learners, college students, and adults. Teaching piano allows me to combine structured instruction with mentorship, helping students develop skill, performance confidence, and a love for music.
My teaching philosophy emphasises consistent practice, discipline, and expressive playing. I focus on posture, hand coordination, finger control, scales, arpeggios, rhythm, sight-reading, and interpretation. I encourage students to connect emotionally with their music to strengthen their performances.
I create goal-oriented lesson plans and teach effective strategies for at-home practice. Many students have performed successfully in recitals, competitions, and school programmes, while others have earned high distinctions in graded music examinations.
My goal is to provide a motivating and supportive environment where students feel confident, inspired, and capable of reaching their full potential as pianists.

My piano teaching approach emphasises adaptability, collaboration, flexibility, and a positive mindset. I understand that each student progresses differently, so I customise lessons to fit their pace and preferred learning method.
I concentrate on technical accuracy, rhythm development, hand independence, and expressive interpretation. Lessons are broken into manageable sections to ensure clarity and steady improvement. Through collaboration, students are involved in planning their musical journey, which increases motivation and accountability.
I foster a supportive environment where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities. In addition to piano performance, I teach music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and beginner composition to help students become confident, skilled, and independent musicians.
