About Gisss
I want to teach because I enjoy helping children learn and grow, especially in building their confidence and understanding from a young age. Teaching allows me to make a positive impact on students’ academic journey, particularly in subjects like Mandarin and Mathematics where a strong foundation is important. I find it rewarding to see students improve, overcome challenges, and develop a love for learning. It also gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge, be patient and supportive, and contribute to their overall development.

My approach to tutoring is student-centered, focusing on creating a supportive and engaging environment where children feel confident to learn and ask questions. I use interactive and practical teaching methods such as visual aids, games, and step-by-step explanations to make lessons enjoyable and easy to understand. For Mandarin, I emphasize speaking, reading, and writing through repetition and fun activities, while for Mathematics, I focus on building strong fundamentals and problem-solving skills. Each lesson typically lasts 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the student’s age and focus level. I have experience tutoring primary school students and helping them improve their academic performance, and I am patient and dedicated to adapting my teaching style to suit each child. My lessons are designed for children aged 5 to 12, from beginner to intermediate level, including those who need extra support or want to strengthen their foundation.
