About Lara
Hi, I'm Lara, and I'm 23 years old. I have been working in the health and social care sector since I was 17, when I first began studying the subject during my A Levels. My first experience was in a care home, and from that moment, I knew that a career in care was exactly where I wanted to be.
Throughout my studies, I learned about caring for people at all ages of life—from supporting babies and understanding their early motor skill development to understanding the complex needs of the elderly, including end-of-life care. I went on to achieve a distinction in health and social care, one of the highest grades possible.
I now have over six years of real-world experience and will reach seven years this May. During this time, I have worked in a variety of settings, including care homes and hospitals, and currently work in domiciliary care, supporting individuals in their own homes.
The reason I am here is simple—care is my passion. I want to help students and learners truly understand what working in care is like, beyond the stereotypes. My goal is to share knowledge, practical insights, and what textbooks may not teach. A fun fact about me is that I have dyslexia. Achieving a distinction despite this challenge is something I am very proud of and proves learning difficulties do not limit anything.
My aim for every lesson is for you to leave feeling more confident and knowledgeable than when you started. That might be feeling confident enough to put your hand up in class, joining conversations more actively, or simply feeling proud of what you have learned. Remember, no question is ever a stupid question. I would much rather you ask as many questions as you need, even if it takes up the whole lesson, than leave feeling more confused than you were when you started.

All sessions are delivered live via webcam and are highly interactive, using a variety of learning techniques including discussion, written activities, and practical tasks. Lesson lengths are flexible and are designed to fit around your availability. Classes are suitable for all ages and experience levels—whether you are studying at school, preparing for exams, or simply wanting to learn more when caring for a family member. During my GCSE and A Level studies in Health and Social Care, I achieved a distinction—one of the highest possible grades. I use this knowledge and experience to create structured and engaging lessons. Each lesson will include a custom PowerPoint to match your knowledge and age. Lessons are always delivered at your pace! At the beginning of every class, we will briefly revise key topics from the previous lesson to reinforce your understanding and ensure important information is remembered before moving on to new content.

I understand that my pricing may be higher than some other tutors you may see online. However, this reflects the level of knowledge, experience, and preparation that I bring to each lesson.
Health and Social Care courses are constantly evolving, and I make it a priority to ensure that all topics I teach are fully up to date with current course content and expectations. Lessons will also include revisiting previous mock exams, practice questions, and key topics to ensure you feel confident and well prepared before assessments or classroom discussions.
I can also recommend relevant textbooks and learning resources, including the most current and useful books available to support your studies outside of our lessons.
My goal is to ensure you feel confident, prepared, and supported throughout your learning journey.
