About Seow Min

I have three years of experience providing one-to-one Mathematics tuition to nursery, primary, and secondary students in Singapore. I supported my pupils in strengthening their mathematical foundations, improving their problem-solving skills, and preparing for Singapore’s Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), the national examination taken at the end of primary school.

Through structured lessons, targeted practice, and personalised feedback, my pupils have achieved an A grade in PSLE Mathematics. This experience has taught me how to identify learning gaps, explain difficult concepts in clear and accessible ways, and adapt my teaching approach to suit a pupil’s confidence, ability, and learning pace.

I am comfortable teaching primary and lower-secondary Mathematics and supporting pupils who need help catching up, consolidating classroom learning, building confidence, or preparing for assessments.

About the lesson

√My approach to tutoring mathematics is patient, structured, and tailored to each student’s learning pace. I focus on helping students understand the logic behind mathematical concepts rather than relying only on memorisation. I first identify the student’s strengths, learning gaps, and areas of difficulty before adapting each lesson to their needs.

My teaching methodology includes clear step-by-step explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and targeted exercises. I use visual aids, diagrams, and real-life examples where appropriate to make abstract concepts easier to understand. I also teach students how to identify question types, choose the correct method, check their answers, and avoid common mistakes. For students preparing for examinations, I incorporate topical revision, timed practice, and exam techniques.

A typical lesson lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. Lessons usually begin with a short review of previous topics, followed by the teaching of a new concept, guided practice, and independent problem-solving. I end each lesson by reviewing key learning points and highlighting areas for further practice.

I have experience teaching and supporting students through tutorials, consultations, assignment guidance, and personalised feedback. My professional background in design, technology, and research has also strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and break problems into manageable steps.

My lessons are suitable for primary and secondary school students of different ability levels, including students who need help building their foundations, improving their confidence, keeping up with schoolwork, or preparing for major examination.
