About Jonah
I am a passionate singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education (Voice Focus). My journey has been deeply rooted in working with choirs, vocal ensembles, and harmony-driven groups. I specialise in helping singers discover the beauty of blending their voices, whether in a small ensemble or a large choir. My teaching spans styles including Classical, Sacred, A Cappella, and Barbershop, giving students the chance to explore rich traditions and diverse repertoire. I focus on sight singing and solfège, building strong music literacy so singers feel confident tackling new pieces. Alongside this, I teach choral blend and part-singing, essential for creating the seamless, unified sound that makes group singing so powerful. I’ve successfully guided school choirs, college ensembles, and community singing groups, leading rehearsals that are both productive and inspiring. My approach emphasises rehearsal leadership, ensuring every session has purpose and flow while still remaining welcoming and encouraging. The **ear-mind-voice connection** is at the heart of every session—training the brain to recognise, process, and sing back with precision. We use **sight-singing apps, rhythm trainers, and digital notation tools** to make practice interactive and modern. **Rhythm exercises** sharpen timing, while layered harmonies challenge students to think musically in every phrase.
