About Emily
I am a trained opera singer and singing teacher with a BMus(Hons), MMus and Advanced Certificate in Opera from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. I have been a singing teacher for over 10 years.
Whilst working in the opera profession, I realised that certain mental and psychological factors were holding me and many of my colleagues back from performing at our best. Having trained in counselling skills and mental health first aid, and as a trainee psychotherapist, I have built a toolkit of skills which I believe can truly help singers at all levels to achieve their best, whether that means dealing with nerves and stage fright, overcoming negative thoughts, or simply learning to find joy in using our voices!

My sessions are for those who wish to improve their wellbeing through singing, or those who wish to improve their singing by building joy into their voice and performance.
I truly believe that singing should be enriching and joyful experience, and that the best singers perform with passion, ease and enjoyment. With my unique approach, I provide sessions that combine singing with psychotherapeutic factors to help you achieve true progress.
Lessons are typically 50 minutes in length for adults, 30 minutes for children.
I trained in opera at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and worked as a professional singer for several years. I have also trained in counselling skills, and am a mental health first aider, and am currently working towards qualification and accreditation as a psychotherapist.
I offer a free 30 minute initial lesson, however I will charge a small fee to cover room hire or travel if applicable, and will discuss this with you prior to the lesson, along with my other policies such as cancellation.
