About the lesson

Since graduating from my degree in English and Education Studies in 2008 (BA Hons) I have been a private tutor. Along side I've had other teaching and tutoring jobs, but tutoring is where my heart has always been. I've worked as a ghost writer, taught English in Thailand, even started a micro publishing company, but I always prefer tutoring.
Over the years I've seen excellent results in a very wide variety of subjects, meaning that my tutees can have the stability of one tutor for a number of subjects - I've taught a home-schooled child English, maths, all three sciences and history, meaning that he only had to get used to one tutor.
My tutoring style is quite varying, as some people need informal encouragement and a relaxed atmosphere, were others thrive with more structure.
As tutoring is my main job I am available during the day for home-schooled children too.
If your child is hovering between 7/8 and needs a bit of a hand to get that 8/9 or if they simply can't get a handle on pi, area and algebraic equations and are staring down the barrel of a 1 or a 2, I'm you gal. With almost 10 years of maths and English tuition under my belt, I can make the difference so that your child can achieve.
I've had excellent results over the years, with a range of tutees. From those who just need that little push to get their B to an A to those who really need a lot more support. I've worked with school refusers and drop-outs and they've all done fantastically well. I had a tutee who had been expelled and hadn't attended in over a year. Withing 6 months he was re-sitting his GCSEs and achieved 6 A*-Cs. Compared to Us across the board
