About Alethea
Beginners often arrive at their first session holding a violin with nervous tension and stiff fingers. Working through posture and left hand agility requires someone who has spent 10 years refining their craft from the Royal Academy of Music.
I support students ranging from those picking up an instrument for the first time to those preparing for performance level examinations. Integrating music theory with scales and arpeggios builds a necessary, solid foundation for shifting positions. My approach stays disciplined but friendly for any student ready to practise. Perhaps you might want to schedule an introductory session this week.

First sessions involve setting up your bow grip and establishing a comfortable, balanced posture. I provide free bowing and posture reference notes after each lesson to keep your home practice focused. We move into spiccato and staccato bowing patterns once your fundamentals feel secure. Rhythm and timing are checked against the musicality required for your specific grade level goals.
My 10 years of teaching ensures that we tackle complex shifting positions through logical, small steps. Each session bridges the gap between basic mechanics and the art of performance. I look forward to seeing your progress as you work towards your musical goals.
